"Sorry about that."
A look of surprise flashed across her face. A moment later she was
untying her robe once more.
"No, no, that's okay ." Daniel motioned for her to stop, and, completely
confused, she did. He signaled for her to sit down on the bed, which
she did. He crossed the room until he was a comfortable distance away
and sat down with
his back against the wail. They looked at each other. Daniel smiled.
The girl smiled. They looked at each other some more.
Since the moment Daniel had laid eyes on her, he'd wanted nothing more
than to be close to her, to spend some quiet time learningto overcome
their linguistic and cultural differences. Now that opportunity was
here, he didn't know what to say.
